As I understand it there are paperwork issues. This is not particularly surprising I guess. The final adoption approval for the couple we are with has not yet been signed by the "People's Party". It seems the orphanage and local judiciary would like to wait to do both adoption ceremonies together. So-- new adoption date for Thursday, so far.
As we are on a very tight schedule with the whole country shutting down Friday evening for the Tet, this news has significant implications for our departure date. Thuy is apparently going to try to pull off some sort of a magic trick and apply for the Vietnamese passport, and translate documents tomorrow in advance of the actual adoption ceremony. I can only hope she pulls this off.
We may yet have Cam Tu with us as of tomorrow night anyway -- this is yet to be determined.
I suppose it was too optimistic to expect that there would be no administrative problems. I can anticipate a couple of others upcoming as well, but I will save these for another day, or hopefully not at all.
Wouldn't want the blog to lack suspense.
